Can I use diet only to manage my Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)?

Diet is typically used in combination with other treatments and can be helpful to manage symptoms or maintain remission of IBD. Depending on your disease severity, you can discuss with your doctor if you want to focus on diet changes alone to manage your Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). This is not usually recommended unless your IBD is mild or in remission.
