Will Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) impact my labor and delivery?

Your Maternal-Fetal Medicine or OB provider will determine the best delivery method for you based on your history and current disease activity. There is a high chance of vaginal delivery; however, a c-section may be needed if you have a history of IPAA surgery (aka J-pouch), prior rectovaginal fistulas, or active perineal disease.
